Access Denied to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\MSDE.bat or Check.vbs

This error is caused by an anti-virus software blocking the installation from accessing the Temp folder.

Disable Anti-Virus and Reinstall

  1. Disable any anti-virus or anti-spam software on the machine.
  2. Attempt the Yearli installation again.

The portion of the anti-virus that needs to be disabled will depend on what brand of anti-virus is being used. Below are the three most common brands and which portion needs to be disabled.

  • McAfee: Real Time Scanning.
  • Norton: Auto-Protect.
  • Kaspersky: Self-Defense.

Please note that most anti-virus software can be paused or disabled by right clicking the anti-virus icon in the system tray, which is located next to the date and time in the taskbar.
