The Yearli database for the previous year is compressed, encrypted, corrupt, or not attached.
Corruption can occur if the database from the previous year was moved from one machine to another without stopping the SQL Server.
Check database for compression
Note: If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.
- Go to the location of the prior year database. The default file path is: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli or Yearli Server\20XX (where XX is the year)\Data*.
- Right click on the file WinFiler20XX_Data.mdf or Yearli20XX_Data.mdf and select Properties.
- Click on Advanced.
- Uncheck the "Compress contents to save disk space" and/or "Encrypt contents to secure data" checkboxes.
- Click OK to close the Advanced Attributes and Properties screen.
- Right click on the file WinFiler20XX_Data_Log.LDF or Yearli20XX_Data_Log.LDF and select Properties.
- Click on Advanced.
- Uncheck the "Compress contents to save disk space" and/or "Encrypt contents to secure data" checkboxes.
- Click OK to close the Advanced Attributes and Properties screen.
- Open the Yearli software.
*The file directory will differ depending on the version of the program. The file directories associated with each version of the program are:
- WinFiler: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\WinFiler or WinFiler Server\20XX (where XX is the year)\Data
- WinFiler Plus and Yearli 2014: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\WinFiler Plus or WinFiler Plus Server\20XX (where XX is the year)\Data
- Yearli 2015 - Current: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli or Yearli Server\20XX (where XX is the year)\Data
Attach Yearli database
Note: If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.
- Go to the location of the prior year installation. The default file path is: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli or Yearli Server\20XX (where XX is the year)\Utilities*.
- Run the AttachDB_Yearli_20XX.exe file*. (You will not need to browse to the database location. The default location will be automatically selected.)
- Open the Yearli software when complete.
*The file directory and attach executable will differ depending on the version of the program. The file directories and attach executables associated with each version of the program are:
- WinFiler: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\WinFiler or WinFiler Server\20XX\Utilities\AttachDB_WF_20XX
- WinFiler Plus and Yearli 2014: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\WinFiler Plus or WinFiler Plus Server\20XX\Utilities\AttachDB_WFP_20XX
- Yearli: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli or Yearli Server\20XX\Utilities\20XX\Utilities\AttachDB_Yearli_20XX
Repair Installation
Note: If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.
- Run the Yearli installation over the existing installation.
- Once complete open the software.
