The Database You are Attempting to Import from Is Already Attached to the SQL Server Engine

The Yearli database for the previous year is compressed, encrypted, corrupt, or not properly attached.

Corruption can occur if the database from the previous year was moved from one machine to another without stopping the SQL Server, or due to improper shutdown such as power failure.

Check Database for Compression

If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.

1. Go to the location of the prior year database.
   • The default file path is: C:\ProgramData\Yearli\20XX (where XX is the year).
2. Open the Data folder.
3. Right click on the file Yearli20XX_Primary.ldf and select Properties.
4. Click on Advanced.
5. Uncheck the "Compress contents to save disk space" and/or "Encrypt contents to secure data" checkboxes.
6. Click OK to close the Advanced Attributes and Properties screen.
7. Right click on the file Yearli20XX_Primary.mdf and select Properties.
8. Click on Advanced.
9. Uncheck the "Compress contents to save disk space" and/or "Encrypt contents to secure data" checkboxes.
10. Click OK to close the Advanced Attributes and Properties screen.
11. Open the Yearli software.

Attach Yearli Database

If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.

1. Go to the location of the prior year installation.
   • The default file path is: C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli\20XX or Yearli Server\20XX (where XX is the year).
2. Open the Utilities folder.
   • The Utilities folder is normally located near the top.
3. Right-click the SQL utility.
4. Click "Run as Administrator".
5. Click the "Attach Database" button.
6. Let the process run.
7. If the messages "Database successfully attached" AND "database owner successfully assigned", the database was fully attached.
8. Open the Yearli software when complete.

Repair Installation

If using a network installation of the Yearli software these steps need to be done on the machine that has the Yearli server installed.

1. Run the Yearli installation over the existing installation.
2. Once complete open the software.
