QuickBooks - How do I setup my QuickBooks desktop permissions for importing?

To setup QuickBooks permissions:

  1. Open QuickBooks and the desired company file.
  2. Click on the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  3. Select the Company Preferences tab.
  4. Click on the Integrated Applications link from the menu on the left.  A list of applications will display in the center.
  5. Highlight Export Wizard and click on the Properties button.
  6. Put a check in the following boxes:
    1. Allow this application to read and modify this company file.
    2. Allow this application to access Social Security Numbers, customer credit card information, and other personal data.
  7. Click Ok on the Properties and Preferences windows.
  8. Open the import utility and try importing again.
