How do I use the TIN Matching service?

New user to Yearli that has no payer/recipient data entered

If you are a new user to Yearli and have not entered any payers, recipients, or forms yet, please follow these steps to use the TIN Matching service.

  1. Log into your Yearli Performance account.
  2. Select the Manage Payers and Recipients button.
  3. Enter the payer information in the required fields.
  4. Click the Save button to save the payer data.
  5. Select the Add Another Payer button if you have additional payers to enter.
  6. Once all payers have been entered and saved, select the desired payer name from the Select Payer drop-down menu.
  7. Scroll to the Recipient Information section.
  8. Enter the recipient information in the required fields.
  9. Click the Save button to save the recipient data.
  10. Select the Add Another Recipient button if you have additional recipients to enter for this payer.  Repeat steps 8-10 until all recipients are entered for this payer.
  11. If you entered multiple payers, select the next payer you need to enter recipients for.  Repeat steps 7-11 until all recipients are entered for all payers.
  12. Click the Back to Your Filing Home link at the top of the page.
  13. Select the TIN Matching button.
  14. Choose the payer name from the Payer Name drop down that you wish to transmit for the TIN Matching service.
  15. Click the Perform Bulk TIN Matching button.
  16. Repeat steps 14-15 for any additional payers that you wish to transmit for the TIN Matching service.

The recipient data has now been submitted to the IRS for the TIN Matching service. Within 24-72 hours the results will be returned from the IRS and posted in your account.

Existing Yearli user that has previous payer/recipient data already entered

If you are an existing Yearli customer that has prior year or current year payers, recipients, or forms entered, please follow these steps to use the TIN Matching service.

  1. Log into your Yearli Performance account.
  2. Select the TIN Matching button.
  3. Choose the payer name from the Payer Name drop down that you wish to transmit for the TIN Matching service.
  4. Click the Perform Bulk TIN Matching button.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 for any additional payers that you wish to transmit for the TIN Matching service.

The recipient data has now been submitted to the IRS for the TIN Matching service. Within 24-72 hours the results will be returned from the IRS and posted in your account.

 How to view the TIN Matching results

Within 24-72 hours the results will be returned from the IRS and posted in your account.  To view the TIN Matching results report, please do the following:

  1. Log into your Yearli Performance account.
  2. Select the Form Filing History button.
  3. Locate the confirmation number of the filing that contained the TIN Matching submission.
  4. Click the check status clock icon next to this confirmation number.
  5. In the status screen it will have a link for TIN Matching Results.  Select the TIN Matching Results link.
  6. At the prompt, select to open the ZIP file.  It will contain the PDF report of the IRS results; as well as, a CSV file with the results.
