How do I e-file a form to the state?

Filing a form to the state

  1. Click on the E-file Center button.
  2. Select the form type.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select a service that includes state e-file.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the Employment type if filing W-2 forms or select the form type if filing 1099s.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select the Payer(s) to be filed to the state.

Note:  To select specific recipients to be filed, click on the Select Recipients for Payer button.  Check or uncheck the boxes next to the Recipient in the list.

9. Click Next.
10. Select the state(s).  The state(s) will be filtered based on the states entered on the W-2 or 1099 forms.
11. Click Next.
12. Select the payer for the appropriate state(s).  If more than one state is selected each state will have a separate tab.
13. Click Next.
14. If the state requires a reconciliation form to be filed, the Reconciliations screen will display.
15. Highlight the Payer.
16. Click the Complete Reconciliation button.
17. Complete reconciliation form.
18. Click OK.
19. Click Next.
20. Complete the submission process.
