Transfer Yearli data files
- Close Yearli.
- Right click on the Yearli shortcut and choose Open File Location or access C:\Program Files (X86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli\20XX
- Open the Utilities folder.
- Right click SQLUtility.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
- With the Yearli SQL Utility open click on Detach Database to detach the database from the SQL instance.
- Minimize the Yearli SQL Utility.
- Navigate to the Yearli installation directory.*
Note: The ProgramData folder is a hidden folder. You must show hidden folders in order to access it. For steps to do this see the How do I show hidden folders? article.
8. Copy the entire Data folder to a separate location and transfer to the new computer.
Note: Options include transferring the folder over the network, flash drive, CD, etc.
9. Open the minimized Yearli SQL Utility and click on Attach Database to re-attach the database to the SQL instance.
10. Click Exit to close the window.
11. Install the Yearli program on the new computer.
12. Right click on the Yearli shortcut and choose Open File Location or access C:\Program Files (X86)\Greatland Corporation\Yearli\20XX
13. Open the Utilities folder.
14. Right click SQLUtility.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
15. With the Yearli SQL Utility open click on Detach Database to detach the database from the SQL instance.
16. Minimize the Yearli SQL Utility.
17. Navigate to the Yearli installation directory on the new machine.*
18. Open the Data folder.
19. Copy the Yearli20XX_Primary.ldf and Yearli20XX_Primary.mdf files that were copied from the old machine over the top of the existing Yearli20XX_Primary.ldf and Yearli20XX_Primary.mdf files.
20. Select Yes to replace all files when prompted.
21. Open the minimized Yearli SQL Utility and click on Attach Database to attach the database to the SQL Instance.
22. Launch the program and verify payer and recipient data is available.
*The file directory associated with Yearli 2018 and newer:
- C:\ProgramData\Yearli\20XX
