How do I import 1099 information from QuickBooks?

Importing QuickBooks® data

Note: QuickBooks® must be open and a company must be selected in order to export data to Yearli.

  1. Click the Import Data button.
  2. Select Import via QuickBooks®.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click on Export Forms.
  5. The Import Wizard Welcome screen will display. 
  6. Click Next.
  7. Choose the 1099-MISC form type to be exported from QuickBooks®.  Recipients marked as inactive can be exported by checking the "Export Inactive Recipient(s) with current year tax data." box.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click on the three dots to give the spreadsheet a name and a location to save.
  10. Enter a name in the File name field and choose where to save the spreadsheet.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Click Next.
  13. A window will display notifying where the spreadsheet is being saved.
  14. Click Next.
  15. If using transactions, the Select Transaction Date Range screen will display.  Select the date range to be exported from QuickBooks®.
  16. Click Next.
  17. The 1099-MISC Box 9 Mappings screen will be display.  All Vendors being exported will be listed here.  You can set Direct Sales for each vendor individually by checking the box to the right of the vendor's name or for all vendors by checking the Check All box. 
  18. Click Next.
  19. The Map 1099-MISC Information screen will display. At this screen the QuickBooks® Account information can be mapped to the necessary 1099-MISC fields.
  20. Choose the 1099-MISC Box Type that corresponds to the displayed QuickBooks® GL Account.
  21. Click Next to go to the next mapping.
  22. Click Finish to complete the mapping.
  23. The confirm items screen will display.  This screen will contain the previous mappings allowing you to review them prior to continuing.  If there are any errors, select the row(s) to correct and click the Modify button.  To add additional mappings click on the Add button. 
  24. If all mapped items are correct, click Finish.
  25. The import will begin. 
  26. Click Finish when complete.
